Grampa Glenn
Six years ago Grampa Glenn bought 2000 strawberry plants. Ever since then we’ve been growing the best strawberries you’ll ever taste. Glennenn Farm is certified organic by OCIA Wisconsin Chapter #1. Nothing but sun, rain, and love go into these berries. The farm is run by Grampa Glenn and Gramma Nenn with occasional help from their granddaughters. Every Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday during the strawberry season we go up to the Eau Claire Downtown Farmers Market. We also sell them any day of the week on our farm, or you can come and pick your own.
Our different varieties are:
- Annapolis a large softer early mid-season berry with great flavor.
- Honeoye a large firmer early mid-season berry that tends to be a bit tarter than some other varieties.
- Jewel a large firmer late mid-season berry which tends to have more seeds, but a flavor that can’t be beat.
- Sparkle a medium-sized late mid-season berry with a softer texture and vibrant color. This is the variety you most often see in the grocery store.

We regret to announce that we are no longer regularly bringing strawberries up to Eau Claire. We had hoped the season would extend longer. If you are looking for other organic and local food in Eau Claire you should check out Just Local Food Co-op. They are truly wonderful about having a good variety of local food much of which is organic. Their address is 1117 South Farwell Street, Eau Claire. They also have a website, www.justlocalfood.com
There are still some delicious berries, if you want to come pick but they are smaller and take longer to pick, but should actually taste better as the berries get smaller. If you have any questions or would like your name added to an e-mail list for next season we will let you know when they’re ripe.
